I try to catch my life – it seems that it slips every time out of my hands. One good shot allows stealing another one second from the oblivion. I imprint the reality and fantasies that appeared towards the lens, and I feel alive for several minutes longer.
How to fix my own state properly? How to leave the print of the real me? It’s impossible. Almost. Thousands of thoughts, splashes of desires and emotions, which sparkle like a crazy oscilloscope – everything disappears. Because neither words nor numbers or measurements exist to describe them.
But the camera exists. What can tell about my mood and feelings better? What can better transmit with the help of the sun, silver and the light all those things that call my attention and amaze me? Everything will disappear. Everyone I love will leave. Me too, before or after them. Probably films will stay a little bit longer. If you can keep everything you love by releasing the shutter – so, why not?
The world is too cramped and suffocating. Although it is the only one accessible variant for us, so we need to embrace it. How? I don’t know. But we have found a compromise – we peacefully coexist, when the camera parts us.
When I take the shots, things find their sense. Can we hope for more in this satiated world, where everything is named and done, and people remain to be fugacious fragile shadows?
