As Max Korndörfer's first monograph and graduation work from Ostkreuzschule Berlin, "Zaunkönig" is a psychogeographical exploration of the suburbs.
Psychogeography examines the influence of architectural and geographical environment on perception, psychological experience and behaviour. The tension generated between seclusion and connectedness is central. The project analyzes attraction and repulsion, the banal, the unexpected and the individual emotional confrontation. In this way, a narrative about the suburbs themselves emerges and Berlin merely plays the role of the stage.
