This image is from Rozovsky’s forthcoming book Mountain Black Heart, a travelogue through the Balkans photographed between 2014 and 2023.

Irina Rozovsky (born in the USSR, lives in the United States) makes photographs of people and places, transforming external landscapes into interior states. Her work is held in major museum collections and has been exhibited internationally. She has published three monographs: One to Nothing (2011); Island in My Mind (2015); and In Plain Air (2020).
