The last thing I did that felt normal was going to a park near Kyiv.
It was February 22nd, 2022.
The grounds had deer, swans and three caged ostriches. I stalled at the ostrich cage photographing one bird that thrashed against the fence. It was biting down on the wire and I kept trying to catch its gaping mouth.
